I would normally not consider doing something like this; but it was suggested that considering the circumstances, it might be a good idea to let our friends and family know what's going on and see if there is help available? Two years ago my daughter and I got a small, beautiful puppy for my wife - who she named Lucy. Since then, Lucy has brought joy and love into our home. She is the ever-precocious little puppy who thinks she is ten times bigger than she is and so full of love that she brings a smile to every face that she meets. We recently discovered that our little Lucy was born with a congenital liver disorder, that can be fixed with surgery which would allow her to live a full life; but without it she will not live long and continue to be very sick. We are beside ourselves as this surgery is going to cost approximately $15,000. We don't expect to raise the full amount, but this is much more than we were expecting to have to come up with and we are asking that anyone who is able to help, please consider it. We know that everyone is stretched thin, but every dollar helps. Prayers are also requested, they are mightier than even the dollar. For those who can give, we can't begin to express our thanks, but to those who can’t give, we completely understand and ask that you to keep us in your prayers. Thank you friends and family.
