Dear Friends,
My name is Ashley Heffner. Last summer I spent two wonderful weeks in Hungary after many years of absence. God blessed me in being able to teach English and watch my niece grow in the Lord on her first mission’s trip. While I was there I felt the Lord tugging at my heart to give more. I am trying hard to step out in faith despite many obstacles, and so this summer I will be spending the entire summer in Hungary. For seven weeks I will teach English to children and teens during their fun filled and God ordained time at camp. I also have the privilege of again serving alongside my fourteen year old niece and family for the first three weeks. Being an adult with many responsibilities this is a hard call to follow, but I feel it is what the Lord has for me. My whole year in fact has been extremely difficult. God has been calling me to trust…trust Him to provide my basic needs on a daily basis as well as trusting Him for my health and souls/lives of those close to me. I have learned that I am not in control. God has remained faithful to me despite my frequent wavering. I know He will continue to remain in control as He has called me to a summer of trust and missions.
I believe He has placed you in my life at some point or another to be a part of this calling. John 14:12 says “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it”.
I have done more praying this last year than ever before in my life. I ask you to join me in these prayers for the lives and souls of those I come in contact with this summer and in my daily life. This support is what I will thrive on. As you can guess I will also need financial support. The cost is 3,800 dollars, which will cover my airfare and living expenses. Please consider if God is calling you to give what he has entrusted to you. I will be eternally grateful!
