The Family of Ron and Jennifer (Brooks) Rush

Hello, my name is Katie Bork and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Ron and Jennifer (Brooks) Rush.

Jennifer was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer in September 2022. Like all other obstacles in her life, she took on the challenge and fought like hell. For the next 15 months, Jennifer continued to balance family, a teaching career at Hinckley-Finlayson High School, and cancer treatments with the help and support of her friends and family. This past January, despite many surgeries and treatments, Jennifer was told that things had taken a turn for the worse. Although the chemo and radiation treatments worked on the initial tumor in her esophagus, numerous tumors have now developed in her pelvic area. Neither radiation nor chemotherapy are having any impact. Her prognosis is, “more than weeks but less than years”. Jennifer is retiring from teaching in order to spend her remaining time with those she loves. I am asking for donations on behalf of her and her family as they enter this new phase and will be needing to arrange for a much-too-early funeral. Since 2020, Jennifer’s husband, Ron, has been fighting Prostate Cancer as well. He will be having surgery to remove it in March, which will cause more financial hardship while he is unable to work. Jennifer and Ron have two children. Alex is 19 and is currently attending Pine Tech. Addison is 16 and goes to Willow River High School.
