The family and friends of Dina Louise Biscotti hope you will join them in raising funds for a memorial bench in her honor to be placed in the UC Davis Arboretum. Dina died at the age of 41 on December 9, 2014, at her home in Davis, due to leiomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of uterine cancer, just three months after receiving a diagnosis.

For the past two years, she lobbied for policies that would counteract climate change and support the creation of green jobs as California Policy Organizer with BlueGreen Alliance. Prior to that, she was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the UC Davis Energy Efficiency Center and a Lecturer at UC Davis.

She spent the last 14 years of her life in Davis where she was known and loved on and off campus. She served on the board of directors at the Davis Food Co-op from 2010 to 2013 and was an active member of Lutheran Church of the Incarnation.  

She graduated from Claremont High School in 1991, received a bachelor's in sociology from UC San Diego in 1996 and earned her PhD in sociology from UC Davis in 2010.

Dina will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, her devotion to family and friends, and her tenacity in fighting for what she believed in.
