Guatemala Nursing Study Abroad

Hey everyone, my name is Jordan Ference and I am a BSN student at the University of West Florida. I'm a senior in college, but a junior in the nursing program with dual minors in Substance Abuse and Community Health Promotions. After this spring semester I start having an excess fee surcharge for every credit hour I go over, which for me will be 25 credit hours over. I am currently working at the University part-time to pay for everything I possibly can. I am reaching out to friends and family now because I was given an amazing opportunity to be a part of the Pilot Study Abroad Program for UWF.
From August 5-14th of 2016 I will have the opportunity to go to Guatemala with Hearts in Motion and UWF to volunteer for our community lab credits. I will be taking a class over the summer that is the Community lecture class, and the trip to Guatemala will be the clinical hours for the class. This gives me the chance to have two less classes my senior spring year so that I can focus on preparing for my NCLEX.
Our team will be working in schools, local hospitals, clinics, and senior centers. I have been looking for a study abroad program ever since I started college, and finally one has become available to me. I am raising money for the airfare (which is around $700) and then the transportation, lodging, and meals (which is $1200). Any extra money earned will go towards paying for credit hours needed. I am looking forward to this trip more than anything and would hate to turn it down due to lack of funds. Anything helps :)
