Help Send Six Immigrant Youth Leaders to the 2018 UWD Congress.
The Student Immigrant Alliance Club of UMass Boston is the only undocumented immigrant youth-led club that strives to create a welcoming environment, provide resources and support, and advocate for undocumented students on campus.
This 2018 United We Dream Congress offers immigrant youth leaders the opportunity to interact and learn from other undocumented youth-led teams across the nation. In addition, they will participate in workshops that will further build on their leadership, community organizing, campaigning, and team building skills.
In the past, our leaders have actively participated in five United We Dream trainings. In December 2017 - January 2018 they spent multiple weeks fighting, rallying, and lobbying for the Dream Act. During the Summer they attended trainings in New York and California to build their campaigning and organizing skills. On campus, they’ve attended the Summer Leadership Institute to build their leadership skills and on-campus resource knowledge. They've become mentors to other undocumented students to help them navigate through UMass Boston, find on-campus resources, help with time management and help them succeed during their academic year. They also coordinated events on campus which united and celebrated the accomplishments of the undocumented community at UMB.
Your contribution will help get six undocumented youth leaders to the 2018 United We Dream Miami, Congress. The funds raised will help cover transportation costs for the members. If you are unable to donate please share this fundraiser with your friends and colleagues.
