Support Darla's Recovery Journey

Hi my name is Sonya Espinoza. I am starting this GoFundMe to help with rent and bills and to stay afloat until I can return to work. On March 2nd 2025 my 15-year-old daughter Darla Ortega was in a horrible ATV accident. When we got to her the ATV was on top of her. With the help of our cousin they were able to push it off of her. She was not breathing and did not have a pulse when she was found. I got to her minutes later and started CPR while waiting for paramedics to arrive. It took three rounds of CPR before she came back to us. We were rushed to the closest hospital where she was sedated and intubated. We then had to be rushed to Loma Linda Children's Hospital where she was in the PICU. Hundreds of people prayed for our Darla to recover. By the grace of God she was released from the hospital on March 6th 2025. She was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, minor brain bleeds, damage to her heart, lungs and liver and is dealing with short-term memory loss. This is one of the scariest things that our family has ever been through. By the grace of God she is improving slowly but surely. I am currently not working right now because she does need care continuously.
