Okay friends and family as many of you know we are having monochromatic diamniotic (mono/di) twins a.k.a. identical twins. With that specific type of twin come lots of excitement but also a lot of possibility of risk. Unfortunately we are currently experiencing one of those possible risks we had an increased chance of. The doctors think we have something called twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS). Where one twin is getting more then it’s share of blood and the other isn’t getting enough. With the possibility of a TTTS diagnosis we require a consult with a doctor/specialist in Florida to confirm what our doctor suspects. This doctor is one of a handful in the country that can do the laser surgery needed to fix this conditioning indeed diagnosed. Without this consult we have been advised to just wait and see if it get worse and then we run the horrible risk of losing one or both of our sweet girls. Which is something we just can’t accept if there was something we could do to help them get a better chance. As this surgery has a very good success rate when it comes to survival of both babies, we would hate to miss our chance at receiving it and helping them. 




Sadly, with that being said my insurance will not cover the consult or surgery since it’s out of network, even though no one in-network can do the necessary procedure.  With that being said this was obviously not a planned expense and all of our extra money and our families is being allocated to the consult and procedure costs. And is something that has to be done as soon as possible it’s not something we have the chance to save for. This also means we don’t have much time to fundraiser and we hate asking for help but any help anyone can provide us would be greatly appreciated. As we still need to pay for car rental and gas down there, food, hotel (as it’s a 3 day stay at least), plane tickets and other small expenses as we will both be out of work for a few days.
