Most people will know my very good friend Nikki Marriott lost her beautiful daughter suddenly on Saturday 23rd July. I’m raising money to help towards funeral costs. As a parent would you have made provisions for a funeral cost by the time they were 14? No one would.
Erin was born with Kleestra Syndrome which made her an incredible character. You couldn’t speak to her without giggling, one of the most hilarious human being I’ve ever met. With her syndrome came struggles as she became a teen being unable to understand everyday changes as she grew up. Nikki has been amazing, able to explain in a way Erin would understand and also making sure Erin’s brother and sister didn’t feel left out.
Erin became unwell on Friday 15th July and was taken to A&E with an extremely high temperature and in almost a state of fitting. Following a CT scan it seemed she had an infection on her brain and was taken to the QMC for emergency brain surgery to remove a piece of bone to help with the swelling. All seemed to be going well and she was being closely monitored. Nikki had been warned there was a possibility of brain damage but they wouldn’t know the extent until Erin woke from the induced coma.
On Thursday 21st July the surgeon was unhappy with Erin’s blood pressure and sent her for another CT scan which unfortunately showed she had suffered a stroke.
On Saturday 23rd July at 15.46 Nikki and Erin’s dad Tim had to make the decision to turn off life support.
Erin was holding her fav teddy’s and had a bag of haribo and wearing her fav hat when she went to sleep surrounded by her family.
please please help towards making Erin’s funeral the best it could possibly be
