Dear Family and Friends,
My name is Audree Silien, a sophomore at the University of Florida majoring in Health Education on the Pre-Medical track. This year, I have the honor of representing the Theta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in the Miss Black and Old Gold Scholarship Pageant as your Contestant #4.
As I kickstart my path into the pre-health field, I recognize the immediate need for representation and understanding across all demographics, especially within the Black community. I aim to be the face and listening ears for those who need it the most. More than just becoming a doctor, I want to have an impact on those inside my community, fostering health initiatives that do more than just diagnose but break down, understand, and work through issues. Through this, I will create a space for communities to not only adopt healthy behaviors but maintain them as well.
With your support, I will never waver from these goals and will continue to push for a better and healthier future for those experiencing health disparities within any community, truly making a change in the lives I touch.
Thank you!
Yours Truly, Contestant #4
