Gradin was born with a congenital deformity known as "microtia" in which the external ear is underdeveloped. We have always left it up to him to decide what to do and a few months ago he made the decision: it's time for a new ear! We will be travelling to Salt Lake City, UT to see a highly skilled surgeon capable of recreating a new ear for Gradin, the only downside is that the surgery is performed in 4 stages over the course of a year. After that he will have his final surgery in Bismarck where they will open the ear canal. Hopefully when Gradin starts third grade he will have perfect hearing!
We are truly humbled by the generosity of everyone so far, words can't describe our gratitude! We appreciate your support and if you know Gradin you can just imagine the big hug and beaming smile that is waiting for you!
