Team San

My mom, San Thor, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer in November 2014. She's fought a long and hard battle because her goal in life was simple. She never wanted material things, she just wanted to be able to watch her kids grow up and to grow old with my dad, her high school sweetheart. She left a legacy of love, creativity, and lots and lots of bellies full of her amazing cooking. She touched the hearts of so many people and always put her whole heart into everything she did. Although she fought long and hard, the cancer eventually spread throughout her body. Each time it progressed, she always fought through it and defied the odds but unfortunately, this time the fight was too much for her body. After nearly six years of constant medication, chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries, her body couldn't fight any longer. Even until the end, my mom used her strength to make sure that she could come it back home so she could be surrounded by her friends and family.  She passed on the morning of September 28th, at home with the love of her life, her three kids, and her wonderful little dog. 

To honor her memory, our family plans to host a celebration of life to remember her loving legacy. We hope to use the funds to hopefully provide food for those who come, although it will never be as yummy as her own cooking, as well as covering costs for her cremation and resting place. All the donations will go to her eldest daughter, Karin, to ensure that her family can make the necessary arrangements.
