Hi. I'm Ernie Amos. I have recently been diagnosed with stage 4 abdominal cancer. I had colon cancer 12 years ago and was able to beat it.
My wife, Donna, and I have been together almost 37 years of my 57 years. We were nearing retirement and looking forward to the future, including watching our grandkids grow up.
We certainly are not giving up. I am being treated by M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, undergoing traditional chemotherapy. They have told me that these treatments cannot cure my cancer, only give me a couple extra years, maybe.
Donna has done a lot of research, and has found alternative treatments outside the U.S. I am seeking treatment at Hufeland Klinik near Frankfurt, Germany. They use a Medical Thermal treatment with other holistic therapies that have been quite successful for over 40 years. These types of treatments are just not available in the U.S.
Just one big problem. My insurance will not cover anything out of network, much less out of the U.S. We are seeking help to cover the approximately $40,000 in medical and travel expenses.
Any help anyone out there can give would be greatly appreciated.
