In the words of the inestimable Euphegenia Doubtfire, “Help is on the waaaaayyyyy!” At least we hope so. Not just because Mrs. Doubtfire is a favorite film for these NYC queens, but there is also NO doubt fire has done messed up our dear friends’ lives. On May 25, Guy and Nelson woke up to a fire sweeping through Mitch and Nelson’s apartment roof garden. Jokes aside (because one of the few things you can do when life hands you a five alarm apartment fire is try and laugh) this has been rough. While the fire was isolated to the roof the apartment is a total loss and almost all of the contents of the apartment were extensively damaged by smoke and water.
On top of this catastrophe, our friends - like almost all film industry folks - have been out of work since the beginning of May due to the writers’ strike. Needless to say, things were already tight. So, if you have some spare coins to help out, please consider. Funds will help Guy, Mitch, and Nelson pay bills and replace belongings lost in the fire.
