Mike's road to recovery

February 13, 2017, my friendbrother, Mike  Sena was in a horrific car accident.  His car was hit head on by a tractor trailer cab and suffered major head, hand and lower body injuries. 

He suffered a concussion and was in the ICU sedated for several days.

The lower body injuries are extensive and will require several surgeries.  On his left side, his femur came through his knee cap and through his skin.  He has an external femur fracture and external patella fracture on both sides, and external fractures of his right ankle - basically, his right ankle is shattered.  His left hand required surgeries to fix the tendons that were torn apart from the accident.  He has already undergone five surgeries to fix his legs and will require at least 2 more. 

He  has been at Denver Health Medical Center for 26 days and a week in the ICU. Mike will spend the next three months in a wheelchair and most of that time in a rehab/hospital facility as he is non weight bearing on both legs for three more months. 


Mike has a long road to recovery.


Mike’s wife, Nancy,  has been at his side during this traumatic ordeal but since she is the sole provider at this time, it hasn’t been easy. Nancy relies on public trasnportation to get back and forth from work and to take the 4 hour trip to Denver to visit Mike. 


I am starting this Go Fund Me page to ask for help in covering some of the surgical costs, hospital bills and the transportation costs for Mike’s wife.  It’s only a portion of the costs that they will face but your support will help tremendously as they try to get back to normal.
