Uva vs. The System – Let’s Help Her Win!

Hi! I’m Astrid, and this is Uva — my brave little fighter and the sweetest soul you’ll ever meet.

We’re both new to Germany, she learning how to bark in German, navigating bureaucracy… and well, apparently fighting insurance companies too.

Just one month after arriving, Uva had an accident and tore a ligament in her left knee. She urgently needs surgery, but her insurance doesn’t cover it because we’ve only been here a short time.

Her other knee has already been operated on, and it’s the only one she’s using now — but it’s starting to show signs of pain too. I’m terrified she’ll end up unable to walk if we don’t act fast.

The surgery is expensive, and as a newcomer myself, I simply can’t afford it alone. But I believe in community and kindness — that together we can help Uva get back on her paws.
