For the homeless, COVID-19 is a pandemic stacked on top of a crisis. 

As COVID-19 continues to develop the challenges for the homeless have only multiplied. 

Since most of their daily needs are met through shelters, soup kitchens,  and local parks, life has become extremely difficult.

Shelters are full or closed. Soup kitchens have shut down temporarily or have run out of food. Most local parks are closed leaving them no access to toilets or toilet paper. 

Us Versus Anxiety is a collaborative community that facilitates experiences, produces content, and creates product to help people become the most adaptive and resilient versions of themselves. 

The purpose of the UVA Care Kit project is to mobilize our UVA community to help the homeless during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We plan to do this by running a fundraiser in order to generate $5,000 so we can collect, pack and distribute UVA Care Kits to the homeless in the Los Angeles County area. 

This campaign is using the 100% model. Every dollar donated will go towards the cause. We are teaming up with the Saint Joseph Center  to distribute the UVA Care Kits throughout Los Angeles county. 

Each UVA Care Kit will include (but not limited to): 

1.  Socks (#1 asked for item) & underwear

2. Hygiene products (hand sanitizer, toilet paper, toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo, razor, shaving cream, etc)

3. Non-Perishable Snacks (Energy Bars, Nuts, Trail Mix, etc)

4. Water

5. Chewable Multi-Vitamins

6.  PPE Masks

7. Gift-card to Starbucks

8. Hand-Written Note
