Bumble and Frank’s friend, PTSD Service Dog Bear, ruptured his cranial cruciate ligament in his right rear leg. As he is not able to work right now, his handler, our US Navy veteran friend Kevin, is in need of our help so he can resume his daily life outside his home once Bear recovers.
The estimate for the surgery alone is over $3,500. Diagnostics have been over $500, and the post-op care could run very high.
While veterans with mobility dogs can often get full insurance coverage on their service dogs, Bear is a skilled, painfully devoted PTSD dog. As such, he is not covered by the VA.
