This project has been in development since the fall of 2013 under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Viviane Namaste (Concordia University Research Chair in HIV/AIDS and Sexual Health) and Dr. Edward Little (Professor and Chair, Theatre Department). Initially conceptualized through an independent study at Concordia University, ‘On Life and Living’ is now being pursued as an extracurricular project with a team made up of artists from the Concordia community, the ACCM community and the greater Montreal artistic community. We are thrilled to be working on a project that allows all of these communities to interact and be in dialogue with one another!
We wish to acknowledge the tremendous amount of time and effort that has been put into this project by the creative team by offering them each an honorarium. The amount of money is not reflective of the amount of hours the team will be giving to the project but rather reflects the symbolic notion that artists are deserving of being paid for their artistic practice.
This is where you come in! We have received support to produce the play from a number of generous funding organizations (listed below) but are still looking to raise $1250! The amount needed will be used to pay 5 of the cast and crew member’s each an honorarium of $250.
If you are in a position to support us financially any amount is deeply appreciated!
