Rest for Dad

My sisters, my mom and I are trying to do what we can to help my dad out. He has COPD and Pulmonary Fibrosis and he is not doing so well. Here is the deal...his employer cancelled his health insurance and he is out of sick time as well. 
Yes, he was a life long smoker and he realizes the impact that had on him. He is not a smoker any longer and would like to move closer to his grand daughters to enjoy them for the time that he has left. 
My dad can no longer afford to go to the doctor. He needs several expensive tests and since his health care has been cancelled he needs the cash to get these. Once he gets these tests he can be delcared disabled and can get the oxygen treatments that he needs. Then, he can hang out with his granddaugters and his family. He can be a little more comfortable and not have to worry about working the long hours that he has for so many years.  He can have the dignity that he deserves and the health care that he so desperately needs. 
I am not the type to do something like this. My dad has worked so hard for so long and I would just like him to have a little respite. I just want him to be comfortable. 
Your help would be more than appreciated. It would mean the world.
