Support The Cole Family After A Medical Emergency

Why GoFundMe? Hello, my name is Emily and I have created this fundraiser to help support The Cole Family (Tyler, Ali and Baby Ford). I am Tyler's sister and I am hoping that we can raise some funds to help The Cole Family in a time of need after a medical emergency. They are facing medical bills and loss of work/income which will really impact their ability to pay bills and support their baby boy due to this medical emergency.

What happened? Ali began to feel really sick on 9/4/23 and was in a lot of pain the entire week leading up to Friday, 9/8/23. She was hesitant to go to the emergency room because she does not currently have health insurance (they were one month away from her being added). Plus being a new mom and working she couldn't rationalize stepping away from her roles to take care of herself (let's be real, all of us parents understand this all too well). By Friday night, she was in excruciating pain and could no longer hold out on going to get checked out and so after putting her baby boy to bed and calling her husband home from work, she was taken to the emergency room. The doctors came to the conclusion that she needed her appendix out and scheduled her for surgery first thing in the morning. What should've been a routine 1 hour surgery soon turned into a 5.5 hour long surgery with complications (that I will spare the details of to be respectful to her). That being said, she is now going to be staying in the hospital for at least the next week on an IV, oxygen and tubes in her stomach. When she finally gets released, she will be under strict restrictions of what she is able to do and will not be able to work for the next two months and will not even be able to lift her baby on her own.

What's the goal? My goal is to raise enough money that they can pay their bills without Ali's income that she will be missing out on while away from work, help make up for the work Tyler is missing to care for their baby, and provide the necessary funds for diapers, formula and wipes, anything more would go towards medical bills but my main priority right now is getting them through this hard time. We all know having a baby is expensive, missing work and losing pay is horrible, and this financial burden of the hospital stay alone is devastating. Ali felt so stressed immediately after surgery about the financial repercussions of this and she should not have to carry that stress when she is recovering from surgery and all the pain she is going to be in for awhile now.

In Conclusion...This isn't something that is easy to do, it's never easy to ask for help, but they could really use the support from family and friends and so I am here to ask you from the bottom of my heart if you could donate or send some prayers to them.
