Support For Our Beloved Makasha

Donation protected
Some of you may know that our beloved Makasha has been dealing with cancer on his neck for a number of years and applying many different alternative therapies.  After several months of consultations with his doctor and Oncologists, and the support of family and friends, he is feeling that it's time to move ahead and have surgery to remove the malignant tumor.  Makasha needs to be in optimal health before surgery and will amplify supplements and holistic treatments to augment the procedure.  Medicare will only cover a portion of the cost of the actual surgery, and there are many additional expenses including PET scans, blood tests, doctor visits and holistic care, to name just a few.  As we all know, health care costs are insane right now, and we can't let this stop Makasha from continuing on his healing journey.  Most importantly, this is a man who has given tirelessly and endlessly to his family, friends and community, of which we are lucky to be included.  It's time for us to support our brother who has given us so much.

A quick Makasha story...   In 2000, I was networking to try and raise money to get Chief Arvol Looking Horse to Boulder for a ceremony related to World Peace & Prayer Day.   I was going down a list, calling people I didn't know and asking if they could chip in to cover his travel.   One after another said it was just too tight and they couldn't help out.  I was feeling pretty deflated, and yet the next name on the list struck me as a bit odd - Makasha / Howard - and so I thought I'd give it a try.   The voice that answered the phone, as you could guess, was immediately warm and inviting.  I'm Travis, I said, and I'm calling to see if you'd be interested in pitching in anything to help us get Chief Looking Horse to Boulder.   HELL YA, he replied quickly.   We met an hour later, he pitched in $100 (I learned later from Kath that was a big stretch for them at the time) and the rest, as they say, is history.   As many of you have experienced, there was an instant soul connection that was unshakeable.  He has since married me and my wife, Alison, is a Godparent to our two sons, been there to celebrate life's high points, and held me in his arms through many of life's lows.   This man has the biggest heart I've ever known, and has served the evolution of humanity for the past 50 years.  Let us take this moment to celebrate our beloved Makasha, and lend whatever financial support we can at this time.

If you would like to make your contribution into a non-profit organization please let me know as we do have a fiscal sponsor available.  And please share with friends.

Also, please know that GoFundMe requires full transparency on all payments, and for us to post here that I (Travis) will be accepting the funds on Makasha's behalf to my personal account before sending via PayPal to Makasha.  This was the preferred method but please let me know if you have any questions and would like to make arrangements to pay directly.

Deep bow and many blessings to all...
