Missions Trip to Guyana!
Donation protected
Hello friends!
A year ago a medical missionary came to our church. I watched as my daughter went forward to the alter, and returned with tears in her eyes. As she has a sensitive heart towards the Lord, I had seen her do this before. However, once she returned to her seat, her tears did not stop, rather grew more intense. I asked her to come speak to me privately, and asked what was wrong, to which she answered through tears, "And I don't even like medical things!" LOL
I knew then that God was doing a great work in her heart, and had placed a burden in it. We arranged to go with the missionary to Africa this year, however, the government in Botswana, did not approve of the teams paper work in time.
I was unaware at that time, that the Lord had laid upon my pastors heart to take a church wide missions trip with this same missionary! (Gotta love how the Lord works!)
This September, Shiloh, KeeLeigh, Alyvia, and myself will travel with our church to Guyana, S. America, to serve on a medical missions trip. The days will be very long, and very eye opening for us all.
Prior to the missions trip, (in June) the children and I, will travel to N. Carolina to Missions Boot Camp! This week of intense camping will serve the purpose of preparing them for life in a 3rd world country. We will be dropped off, and hike 1.5 miles into camp, and live off of only what we carry on our backs that week!
In addition to being challenged physically, the children will be taught how to always be aware of their surroundings, navigation tools, and how to live without toilets and running water! During this time, they will also become First Aid and CPR certified, as well as recieve the most basic certificate in dental hygiene, and learn how to read prescriptions for those needing glasses. (They will also learn how to jump out of a helicopter!)
We have stepped out in complete faith for this trip. We have watched as the Lord has provided the money needed for passports, and the camp. The rest of this money needed will cover the trip itself, and the supplies that are needed for the week of camp in NC.
I would be so thankful, humbled, and appreciative of any donation you would consider giving. Most of all, please pray for us! I believe, with ever single fiber of my being, that God is working in the hearts of my children, and that He works mightly on the foreign field, during an experience like this one! I am living proof of this! My father sacrificed greatly to send me on my first mission trip at 16 years of age, and I STILL, twenty years later, can say it forever changed my life! I STILL get tears in my eyes thinking and talking about it. I still miss that country, and that people group!
I want to thank you for still being here after all that information! And for even considering giving! My prayer is the Lord will bless each one who prays, and gives, and that He will restore it to you ten fold!
Much love to each of you!!
