Mikey Lawson and The Lawsons!

Donation protected
Mikey, Matt, Lauren and the girls have so many great friends and people that have reached out to help and show their support; so a few of us have decided to organize a little bit of support and let them know we are here for them.

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” - Helen Keller

Mikey is fighting the battle and Matt and Lauren intend to be there every step of the way. Our support will allow them to be there for their son as he continues to battle. It is a long road ahead for the entire Lawson family, but these are some of the strongest people we know. Lets lift them up in a anyway we can and let them know we stand behind them.

For those of you that are not yet aware about what is happening, here is a snippet from Lauren's post on facebeook:

What started with some diarrhea and a suspected milk allergy got a lot more serious. The team here mapped his entire genome and michael has a confirmed diagnosis on IPEX. Immune dysregulation Polyendocrinopathy Enteropathy X linked syndrome.

It’s extremely rare (approx 1 in 1.6 million with less than 200 reported worldwide cases to date). He is on multiple immunosuppressants, and can’t feed so he’s has IV nutrition and will be here at the hospital until the meds kick in and allow his intestines to absorb nutrients.

The only treatment is a stem cell transplant that will hopefully be done at Seattle children’s hospital sometime in the next 6 months as long as we find a bone marrow match and he gets strong enough to get through it. It’s likely we will have to reside in Seattle for 6-12 months to complete his treatment regimen.

Funds raised will go directly to the Lawson family. This will help with the cost they are incurring daily. They are spending many sleepless nights at Rady's children's hospital, as well as eating most of their meals at the hospital.

They will have to reside and travel back and forth to Seattle, while also trying to maintain a sense of normalcy for the girls. Matt's school has just started and as many of you know he plays an important role in so many young people's lives. The travel and work schedule will be consuming as well costly.   As a result anything raised here will go directly to their family.
