Daniel Hatten's Medical Plus Fund

Donation protected

Daniel Hatten is a goofball.  That is not why we are setting up this site though.  I wish that was the reason.

We are setting up this site because our goofball has a brain tumor on his brain stem.   Symptoms started showing themsevles in mid-April with his eyes not working properly.  One week or so later he was taken to the emergency room due to a lack of balance and incoherent speaking.  After many scans, MRIs, etc., they determined it was a brain tumor.  A week after that, a biopsy was done at MD Anderson.  A week and a half after that it was determined that it is incurable.  Radiation should start at the end of May to help maintain his current status.

Many people have asked our family to set up a fundraising site because they want to help. How blessed is that??!

The funds from this website will be going toward the medical expenses that Stephanie and Daniel will be handling.  The goal amount that is on here should cover the potential 'out-of-pocket' expenses using Daniel's insurance. It will also be used for medical incidentals such as parking at the hospital.

Now, some people are wanting Stephanie and Daniel to have some fun together.  Okay, I guess we let them use some of this for a trip together.  This summer they will celebrate 20 years since they got engaged and in February will celebrate 20 years of marriage.  We don't know what all Daniel will be able to do but we will see how he feels after his 6-weeks of radiation and then they can plan something special.

Stephanie and Daniel have 4 wonderful kids - Sydnie, Savana, Sara and Ryan. Sydnie is engaged to Pedro and she will be Daniel's primary day-time caretaker at least for the summer.  We are excited for them and their next steps in life.  Savana is graduating high school and we are celebrating that special milestone and getting her prepared for Texas A&M in the fall.  Sara is going to a Drama Camp and to UMC Youth Academy this summer. Ryan is going to Lakeview at least once if not more.

Daniel's goal is to see Ryan graduate from high school and we are praying that God gives him the strength to do that.

We will have updates on Daniel on Caring Bridge.
