Hello,

My name is Annabel Valencia, and I am the proud mother of four amazing children. One of them, my sweet son Roman, has been fighting for his life since the day he was born.

When Roman was just one month old, we were told he had a smaller kidney. Those words changed everything. From that moment forward, our lives became a cycle of hospital visits, procedures, and prayers. While other children were learning to walk, Roman was learning how to live with constant medical care.

By the time he was 17, his kidneys could no longer keep him alive. He was placed on dialysis — a machine that would clean his blood every single day — a process that consumed hours of his life and left him exhausted. We prayed for a miracle, and at 18, God answered with a kidney transplant.

Earlier this year, we feared history was repeating itself. Roman’s health began to decline, and he had to return to dialysis. Thankfully, just recently, he received another kidney — and while it is currently working, his lab results are not where they should be. Every test feels like we’re holding our breath, praying for good news and terrified of what bad news could mean. His fight is far from over.

Roman has endured more pain, needles, and hospital stays than any young man should ever have to face. Instead of spending his days with friends or making plans for his future, he spends them fighting for the chance to have one.

We travel constantly to San Francisco for his treatments. The expenses — gas, food, hotels, medical costs — pile up faster than we can manage. I cannot work because Roman needs me by his side, every moment, through every emergency, every procedure, every long night in the hospital.

We are humbly asking for your help. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to easing this crushing financial burden and allowing us to focus on what truly matters — giving Roman the care and comfort he needs to keep fighting.
