Hi everyone! I’m creating this fundraiser for the UTSA Women’s Rugby team on behalf of our alumni as they have qualified for CRC’s 7’s nationals for the second year in a row! The team will be traveling to the Maryland/Washington, D.C. area from April 25th-29th to compete for the D2 national title. I decided to put together this campaign in hopes to help the team raise the money needed for hotels, van rentals, and travel expenses.
A little about their season- UTSA started 1-7 after competing in two conference tournaments. They were considered the “underdogs” going into the state tournament hosted by Texas Tech last weekend. With only 8 girls rostered, UTSA was able to beat out UNT (26-19) and A&M (12-10) which landed them in the championship match against SNU. Making it to the championship match ranked UTSA the top D2 team in the Lonestar Conference which qualified them for nationals!
As a proud alumni and someone who got to play at nationals, I would love for all the current players at UTSA to experience this amazing opportunity.
