ABOUT:
‘Dink: Deconstructed’ is a music video for emerging Aussie jazz-fusion band, Dink, where music, dance and synesthesia unite to translate sound into movement. This project is directed by Maya Bienstock and produced by Emmie Duong, together with the crew members all from UTS.
Their song ‘Mixture’ is deconstructed into its separate instrumental tracks that are assigned to different dancers. The dancers’ interpretations of the music are shot through a mix of static, close up and moving shots that accentuate the subtle shifts in sound. In post-production, these tracks and their accompanying videos are reconstructed into an extended version of ‘Mixture’ that immerses audiences in the music-making and interpreting process, climaxing in an audiovisual feast of music, movement, and colour.
