Utila Aid Project

We are raising funds to fund a food bank on the small island of Utila, Honduras where we live and know most of the people we are helping.  From March through October,  we have been on Covid lock downs and all tourists are gone and businesses closed.   Most recently, we have suffered two hurricanes Eta & Iota placing a huge stress on the community here and on the nearby mainland.  We have roughly 6,000 residents, many are currently out of work due to the recent mandatory business shutdowns and the hurricanes.  This island relies almost 100% on tourism. There is NO government money to support individuals in this poor country via unemployment or subsidies.   We do not want anyone here to go hungry and lose hope.  Utila Aid Project is making sure these funds go direct to feeding people.  We have previously raised $6000 and every dollar went to grocery store credits and bulk food deliveries for people in need here on Utila.  We also matched our largest donation and hope one of our donors will commit to doing this!
