Any boat owner knows how difficult it can be to find a reliable fiberglass repair person. CHARLIE MILLSAP is just that person in Bellingham, Washington. Charlie had throat cancer years ago and fought it! He just found out today, Sept. 24, 2018, it has reoccurred.
Millsap Fiberglass is a one man shop - Charlie works out of his van and does fiberglass work for people in Squalicum Harbor here in Bellingham. It doesn't matter who you are - individual boat owners, boat brokers, boat shipyards, you name it, Charlie has probably worked on it. He has a wonderful smile and grows the best vegetables around that he shares with EVERYONE in the Harbor. He has a heart of gold when it comes time to share.
It is with great difficulty I am writing this now since I think everyone has been in the position of "gee, what can I do? How can I help? " We're at that point now. Thanks to the GoFundMe website crowd funding seems like a good way to "help Charlie out!"
Talking with Charlie is difficult due to the condition of his throat but I did hear is there is a chance he may have to go to Seattle for treatment. He and his wife have been trying to raise money at his end but expenses will mount up quickly - especially if he has to go to Seattle to the University of Washington, Fred Hutch or one of the bigger hospitals like Swedish Hospital or Virginia Mason.
So if you have worked with Charlie before or received any of his vegetables or just know him from walking around the docks - please consider contributing to "Go Help Charlie Out". The money will be used to help defray costs i.e., housing , travelling to Seattle and back.-where ever it can help.
