Our mom, Lindsey, was recently diagnosed with multiple herniated discs in her lower back. One of the broken pieces is pressing on a nerve that affects her leg, causing severe pain and limiting her mobility.
She just spent 10 days in the hospital, missing Christmas and the holidays with us, and has now been transferred to an inpatient physical rehabilitation facility.
At this point, surgery is likely, and we should know more within the next week as doctors determine the best path forward.
My mom has five kids, but she primarily takes care of the two youngest — something she simply isn’t able to do right now.
For as long as we can remember, she’s been the person who always “figured it out” and kept everything running, no matter how hard things got.
Seeing her struggle physically while also worrying about how to keep everything together has been incredibly difficult for all of us.
Right now, she’s under constant stress about bills and basic expenses, and we’re trying to help her focus on healing instead of panicking about finances.
The goal of this fundraiser is to help cover essential expenses like rent, utilities, groceries, and medical costs while she’s unable to work.
Any donation — big or small — would help ease that burden and allow her to put her energy toward recovery instead of worrying about how to make ends meet.
My mom is one of the most compassionate people you’ll ever meet. Nursing comes naturally to her because she genuinely cares about people and goes out of her way to support them during difficult moments. She treats every patient with patience, dignity, and kindness. Now, because of this injury, she’s temporarily on the other side — needing some of the same understanding and support she has spent her career giving to others.
Asking for help isn’t easy for her, which is why I’m doing this on her behalf.
Right now, we don’t have many options, and any support truly means more than we can express. Even if you’re unable to donate, sharing this or keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers would mean the world to us.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for supporting our family.
