Andrew D. Decker

It's with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Andrew Dimitrios Decker. Andrew leaves behind two minor children, Ayden and Alanna of Philomath, Oregon. Also, his three dogs that are currently in Florida. Andrew moved from his long time residence in Corvallis, Oregon to Florida in May 2022. Andrew died tragically in a car accident in Gilchrist County, FL on October 11, 2023.

Andrew has friends and family across the country, including his mother, Paula, in Arizona and his father Tom, sister, and brother in Florida. Andrew's children are in Oregon with their mother, Summer, and their grandparents. Andrew loved his children dearly, and his dogs (Blu, Chewy, and Ocean), too. His passing is extra hard to process because of the geographical distance involved. The family is seeking help with travel expenses for Andrew's children to go to Florida to attend their father's memorial service on Oct 28, 2023. Support is also needed to relocate Andrew's three dogs from Florida to Oregon to live with his children. The dogs are not permitted to fly. The option is to drive them cross country, which the children and their mother are planning to do following Andrew's service. Goal is $5K = $1600 for Ayden & Alanna's Airfare from OR to FL; $2K for Gas from FL to OR (3,017 miles at $.65/mile); $900 for Pet Expenses/Vet Care once in OR ($300/dog).

My name is Laura Young, I'm a close friend of the family. Andrew was one of my best friends. We were neighbors in Corvallis from 2011-15. Our children grew up together. Over the years, Andrew and I supported each other as single parents and as entrepreneurs. Andrew was an early believer in my mobile pottery lessons endeavor and I was a cheerleader for his independent drive school business.

Andrew's memorial service is on Saturday October 28, 2023 at 3pm at Watson Milton Funeral Home in Trenton, FL. The family is requesting help with Ayden and Alanna's airfare from Oregon to Florida to attend their father's memorial service as well as support to drive Andrew's dogs from Florida to Oregon following the service.
