Before reading my story, here is a quick overview of what you will find below:
  • My current medical needs and why I am asking for help
  • How cancer, surgery, and chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) led to ongoing complications
  • The treatments and supplies I still need to pay for
  • The financial strain caused by long-term medical issues
  • How your support directly helps me today

UPDATE – NOVEMBER 2025
I am working toward long-term treatments, but my medical needs have grown. These issues come from cancer, nerve damage from surgery, and chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). I am trying to stay healthy while keeping up with essential daily supplies and ongoing care.

Current medical needs:
  • Sleep study for severe sleep apnea
  • Procedure and ongoing care to help manage and treat incontinence caused by nerve damage from cancer surgery
  • Treatment for CVI
  • Remaining medical bills from my 2022 cancer surgery
  • Ongoing daily medical supplies

These expenses are constant and unavoidable. Any donation helps me address these needs. Sharing this page also helps more than you know.

Thank you for standing with me through this long fight.

MY STORY
In late November 2018, I had a full physical. My PSA level was normal for my age, and nothing seemed wrong. In 2019, I had another physical, but the PSA test was not repeated. My doctor called my bloodwork “amazing” and credited my healthy lifestyle. I was eating well and running 6K every night.

That same year, I earned my teaching certification, transitioned out of a private school, and began working for the Clark County School District and Library. It felt like a dream job. My classes were going well, and life finally seemed to be moving in the right direction. Then COVID hit and the schools closed.

During 2020 and 2021, I stayed active and had additional physicals, but again, no PSA test was done.

Everything changed on June 16th, 2022. A PSA test was finally performed, and the results were extremely high. A biopsy confirmed aggressive prostate cancer on both sides of the gland. I was diagnosed with Stage 2, T2C B2. I underwent surgery that year.
The cancer was treated, but the surgery left permanent nerve damage that caused ongoing daily incontinence. It affects every part of life: sleep, comfort, dignity, work, and finances.

I also developed chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), which requires ongoing treatment and medical compression. These issues continue to affect my health and daily functioning.

I have stayed hopeful and active, but I cannot manage these medical needs alone. The costs continue to grow, and insurance does not cover everything.

WHY I AM ASKING FOR HELP
Between cancer, nerve damage, CVI, sleep apnea, and recurring medical bills, I am overwhelmed. I do not have family who can cover these costs. I work, but these medical expenses are far more than I can manage on my own.

Your support helps me pay for:
  • Necessary sleep testing
  • Care to manage and treat incontinence
  • Treatment for CVI
  • Outstanding cancer-related bills
  • Daily medical supplies
  • Costs that insurance does not cover

Any help, whether a donation or simply sharing this page, truly means a great deal to me.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for caring.
