My name is Joicy Souza, I am an Elementary teacher, passionate about my students and my job. Next February I will complete 20 years in Education and this is my 7th year teaching in Utah. I am Brazilian, married, and a mom of two handsome boys, 2 and 4 years old. I spent 12 years teaching in Brazil before I move to the US in 2016. I came here to teach in a Portuguese Dual Immersion Program and my original plan was to stay for about 3 years and then go back to Brazil. But my husband and I are already married for almost 10 years now and have decided not to wait for more years to have our big blessings, our sons. So I had two boys here in the US, both of them were born in Utah since then, everything has changed. So, currently, I have a work visa which gives me the permit to work here in the US for 3 years. I also have the unique opportunity to have my permanent residency here in Utah, which gives me the permission to access the Country, work here and contribute to the Utah State's Education also paying all the State and Federal Taxes, as I always did. However, this process is a long-term process and very expensive, which makes it harder for a teacher. The cost of the process will be partially covered by my employer, but the other part is my responsibility. The amount I am asking in this fundraising is exclusive for paying the Immigration Process Fees and the attorney's work for the process preparation. It's not easy to come and ask for a donation, however, I am doing what is best for my family, especially thinking about my own children's future also keep giving my contribution to Education in the United States and helping my students improve their skills. If you can help me by donating and sharing it on your social media and in your groups, I'd appreciate it and I will be very thankful for your generosity.
