The Love of My Life is Gone

I’m writing this on behalf of my sweet & loving cousin Stephanie Makaleka DeCoite & her amazing man Lloyd Kirkwood Kupau III “Buddy”.

Stephanie and Buddy started dating after a family party and have been inseparable ever since. They planned to get married in May after the birth of their 3rd child, but sadly God had other plans.

On February 28th, Stephanie’s life was forever changed by the loss of her fiancée Buddy Kupau III.

Due to Buddy’s medical issues he was told that he needed to replace his aortic valve to increase the longevity of his life. The procedure was scheduled for Monday February 27th, and after some small complications everything seemed to go well. According to his doctor, it was a success.

The next day when Stephanie arrived at the hospital, chaos was in full motion. She was told they found scar tissue and had to go back in and do bypass surgery. He fought hard but his big loving heart was pushed to its limit, and he lost the battle at the young age of 43.

He is the love of her life and time wasn’t something that she felt would run out for them. He was a one in million-man, amazing Partner, Father, Son, Brother and Friend. He will be truly missed.

Buddy was the main breadwinner and because they weren’t married, financially Steph can’t make it on her own. He played such a big role in her life and without him the future seems daunting. Being seven months pregnant and left with their two children, Jacob & Kaestan to raise on her own will be challenging. She has a lot of love surrounding her from her father-in-law to her family & friends, but she wasn’t financially prepared for this loss. Any support in relieving some of her expenses from the mortgage to the day-to-day needs would be greatly appreciated.
