Help Ginger Get the Medical Care She Needs

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out about my sweet kitty, Ginger. For those who don’t know her, Ginger is a 6-year-old FIV+ cat I adopted last February, and she has brought so much joy and love into our home. She is the most affectionate little companion, and we couldn’t imagine life without her.

Sadly, on September 16th, I noticed Ginger starting to wheeze. A trip to the emergency vet revealed that her heart might be enlarged, indicating potential heart disease. Since then, we’ve had three more vet visits, but we still don’t have clear answers. Her nose has been producing mucus that started clear, turned yellow, and is now bloody. The vets suspect it could be due to a tumor, polyp, or a foreign object, but before they can move forward with treating her, they need to assess whether heart disease is part of the problem.

The diagnostic process to figure out what’s going on will cost around $5,000, which we simply can’t afford right now. Unfortunately, because Ginger is FIV+, we haven’t been able to secure any pet insurance.
