Blessings from the Hernandez Family,

It gives our family great sadness and sorrow that our beloved baby brother, Luis Melendez (25), has passed away in a fatal car accident reported early Wednesday morning, 7/19/23. Our family called the Eureka CA County Sheriff’s Department who informed the family that Luis had lost control of his car at a curve and skidded for 200 feet, where his car crashed into a redwood tree which killed Luis instantly. We were informed that the accident was terrible and the car was unrecognizable the doors came out, the engine of the car came out, and the gas tank as well. Unfortunately, that is all the information that was given to us and further investigation is yet to take place. Luis had recently left Santa Ana, CA to move to Arcata, CA to finish his schooling at Cal Poly Humboldt University. Unfortunately, those plans were changed by his sudden death. Our family is devastated by his death, and we are asking all of our family, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, and everyone that knew our brother to help us put his body to rest. All your help and support are needed in this time of grief, and everyone's monetary help will be greatly appreciated. May God bless all of you for your support!
