My wife, Meagan, was hit by a car in a parking lot while heading to her car. She broke both her tibia and fibula and required surgery in order to fix the damage. We have insurance, but even with, the costs of the co-pays, ambulance ride, physical therapy, potential psychiatric visits to help her get over her new fear of walking through parking lots or being in a car in general are looking to eat in to what little savings we had. Meagan is a massage therapist that works on her feet and it is not sure when she will be able to go back to bringing in consistent paychecks. On a more humorous side, when she was hit, she went in to so much shock, that she called me and asked if I could just pick her up or if she could get an uber because she knew the ambulance ride would be expensive. She sounded so calm on the phone, I almost didn't believe her. But the X-Ray below proved different.
If you don't know Meagan, she is a competing power lifter and strongwoman who loves to spend her time in the gym. We even have consistent date days where we go to the gym for "Strongman Sunday" and then go out and grab tacos after it. It's the one date we let ourselves have each and every week, and I can tell it's hurting her to not be able to those dates again yet. Worse off, in her very first strongwoman meet, she qualified for 2017 Nationals, and now will not only have to drop out of that, she will not be able to even compete to attempt to qualify for 2018 Nationals. Without expensive physical therapy, she will probably drop back proving over a year of hard work obsolete.
Even worse, for anyone who knows her. She loves her dogs and spoils them. But because of their energy and the risk that our bigger dog will jump on her leg, she has only been able to see her dogs once since the accident. That was only for around 10 minutes on Christmas Day, and I had to hold the leashes tight so that they wouldn't jump all over her. This combined with needing to move back to her parent's house temporarily. We live in a 3rd floor walk up aparment and with my work schedule, I am not able to be there for her enough to actually help her with what she needs. My normal commute to work and back is a total of one mile, but I am now having to drive a 60 mile round trip on toll roads just so I can see my wife at nights. I still need to be home at night so I can take care of our dogs at night and in the morning. Meagan and I have to make the choice consistently between spending the gas for me to see her, or just not seeing her for days at a time. Not a decision I like making.

We hate asking for help like this, but at this point the bills are about to start stacking up and there is still no ETA on when she will be able to go back to work massaging and bring in consistent paychecks. My paychecks alone can only cover rent and car payments.
Any help we can get would be appreciated. Even if it is just well wishes or a share of this link. Much love.
