Bidu's Emergency Surgery

Our beloved 8 year old cat, Bidu, went into emergency vetrinary care this past holiday weekend at Blue Pearl here in NYC.  He had a urinary blockage that can make small animals go toxic very quickly. Although Blue Pearl provides great 24 hour care, it comes with a steep price tag. Many of you sent me amazing advice about other vet centers & your personal experiences with your loved animals & I am so thankful to each of you.  However, becasue of the holiday, we weren't abale to make any other arrangements based on your recomendations. Our plan was to get him through his immediate crisis and then plan a PU surgery with our long standing vet in the near  future. ( The surgery basically changes his sex organs to that of a female & has proven to be a great solution for many cats with this chronic life threatening disease ).  And although surgery is always expensive, we had a quote and knew how we would go about it.

HOWEVER, WE HAD A SET BACK THIS A.M. The doctors called to say that the catheter had broken off inside & that Dewey was in distress. The only option was to go through with the surgery immediatly in their facility with their pricetag. 

So here we are .. Dew is in surgery as I type. Some of you had suggested a Go Fund Me page & I thought yesterday that it seemed extream & I could never ask my friends for help. But that thought is so last year.

I want you all to know that ANY little bit helps with this unexpected cost & every dime will go towards his bills. The  " goal " number posted is just a portion of our expenses. ( I know, it's obscene. ) That said, I have been on the other end of these funding requests & I know sometimes a donation just isn't possible. I get it!! So no guilt.  If you could put a good thought out into the universe for our baby boy that we adore, that would also be super meaningful.
