Hi, my names Lucy and I am fundraising to try and and save my Kitten. On New Years Eve, I rushed Ginger to the vets as he was struggling to breathe, the vets determined that he had fluid on the lungs but he would need an ultrasound to confirm. We rushed Ginger to the out of hours vet as it was 24hr care. His ultrasound confirmed that there was fluid around his lungs, chest and heart but they would need to test the fluid to see if he had an underlying condition. In the meantime Ginger had drains placed in his chest to remove the fluid and he was put on broad spectrum antibiotics.
It was found that Ginger had FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) which is fatal when left untreated. Ginger needs an 84 day course of tablets to survive.
I haven't had gunger long but I love him so much and he has helped me through the loss of my dog. Ginger, like the rest of my animals is a rescue who was found in an underground garage with his brother Goldie who is at home waiting for his brother to come back to him.
I am disabled and rescuing animals is my life. I have been rescuing animals for 30+ years, usually I rescue elderly, disabled or abused animals but when I saw Ginger needed a home I knew I could give him and his brother a loving home.
However, there was a mix up with the transfer of his insurance (when going from the free insurance provided by the rescue to a new one in my name) meaning his treatment is not covered and I am needing financial help for Gingers care. please help him so he will be able to come home to me and his brother.
So far his bill has come to £2600 which I paid including credit card which will need replenishing So I am able to have a safety net for all my rescues . Most important is getting the money for gingers 84 day course meds to save his life then the blood tests til he is clear. I've sourced cheapest form liquid from another vets, His bill is estimated to rise up to £2000 on top of above which will cover the rest of bloods and his fip medication 84 days plus increase in dose as puts weight back on and prescription, vet fee recovery food as lost alot weight need to get him as strong as possible to fight this fip esp while on this course fip meds and possible per vet fluid could build back up lungs chest heart he could go downhill again during this time as very vulnerable weak so would need to rush him back to vets. I've not included that in costing unless happens then I'll add on.
Due to being disabled I am medically retired meaning I live month to month on benefits which only cover monthly pet insurance for my pets not this situation which I've now found myself in for all years rescuing til now has never happened before a pet ins mix up.
If you cannot donate please share this with anyone you can.
Thank you from Ginger, Goldie & Lucy x
