My name is Zackery Nightfeather. I’m starting a go fund me page to raise money for a very special pick up truck. Her name is Bessie. She is a 1965 Chevrolet C10 pick up that was owned by Donald Stratton. Don is a USS Arizona Survivor. He was badly burned over 65% of his body as a result of his ship exploding during the attack on Pearl Harbor. When he passed away, the truck went to his son Randy. Sadly, Randy passed away 2 years ago leaving the Stratton family with nobody to repair and maintain this truck. I recently visited the Strattons and had an opportunity to work on Don’s truck. Outwardly, she looks beautiful. However, the wiring in the truck is shot. Much of it is melted and is a patch work of new and old wiring spliced together. As of now, it is not reliable to drive. She also needs a working, modern instrument cluster, a new gas tank (the old one is full of dirt and rust), and a power brake conversion. The truck has the original manual drum brakes and is not easy to stop. Bessie needs to be safe, reliable, and stable on the road so that the next generation of Strattons can take her out to events and shows.

I will handle the installation free of charge. I am a trained mechanic and a close family friend of the Strattons. I calculated that the amount of money necessary for parts is roughly $7,000. I will provide receipts for all parts purchased and any money over what Bessie needs will go to the USS Arizona Legacy Foundation as a donation.
