Just recently, on Saturday May 16th, we lost our dad to ALS. It was a pretty rough trip for him these past two years since he was diagnosed, we watched him first gradually lose muscle definition then suddenly the ability to walk. Finally, only two years after being told he had ALS, he was wheel chair bound, unable to use his hands and unable to speak; getting frustrated and sad when we couldn't understand what he needed. Since his decline was so rapid and abrupt, he had no time to prepare anything for his passing, so my siblings and I are now scrambling to prepare a proper send off for him with almost no money. The cheapest funeral package is over $7,000 and that doesn't even include transportation to where he wanted to be laid to rest. We need all the help we can get, and as fast as possible.
