Maggie (Ms. B) is a beloved Ross School teacher, friend, and mom in the Marin community. After facing breast cancer in 2019, she is now battling a recurrence. Following surgery this summer, Maggie has relocated to San Diego for six weeks of specialized Proton Radiation and doing very well so far! Maggie never expected to be on the receiving end of a GoFundMe, but an unusual series of circumstances left her GREATLY appreciating the support. After her health insurance was involuntarily switched, putting her medical team out of network with no out-of-pocket cap and her “continuity of care” appeal being denied, she was left to cover treatment and start over with a new team of doctors. On top of this, she has lost income during medical leave and covering the added costs of relocating to San Diego.
