What: This GoFundMe is to provide an amazing group of gentlemen the opportunity to

represent the Southeast Division of the United States Gaelic Athletic Association in

Derry, Ireland while they compete on the international stage in the sport of hurling.

Who: The funds generated here will go directly toward the travel expenses for the

players from the Southeast division to compete against teams coming from Australia,

South Africa, and Argentina, as well as teams from China, Canada, the Middle East,

New York, other parts of North America, Asia, Europe, and Britain.

Why: This is an amateur sport and none of the players are paid to play. We have

earned representation on the global stage, and though we are ecstatic to have made it

this far, it has incurred global travel expenses (airfare, tournament lodging, local

transportation, etc.). Each one of us is a hardworking “Y’all Star”, and every little bit

helps make this dream come true.

Details: For the first time ever, the United States Gaelic Athletic Association Southeast Hurling

Team is traveling to the FRS Recruitment GAA World Games in Derry, Ireland in July.

We are a dedicated group of amateur American athletes who have been given an

incredible opportunity to represent the United States Gaelic Athletic Association

Southeast Division in the 2023 FRS Recruitment GAA World Games in Ireland. This

prestigious event brings together the best Gaelic Football and Hurling players from

around the globe, and we are determined to showcase our skills and bring the

championship trophy back home. We need your support to turn this dream into a reality.

The 2023 World Games currently has over 100 teams from around the world registered

to participate with over 1000 players competing to be the top.

Our Journey to Ireland is not just about participating in a sporting event, it's a chance for

us to experience and connect with Irish culture and heritage. We all have a passion for

hurling and Gaelic Games, and this will be a chance for us to prove our grit in the

country that brought the GAA Culture around the world. We have trained tirelessly,

honing our skills for the chance to compete that the highest level. We started with 40 of

the best players throughout the Southeast and have consolidated it down to send the

top 15 players to the games. The clubs extend from Raleigh to Tampa, and as far west

as Memphis.

While our passion for Hurling and commitment to representing the United States are

unwavering, the financial burden of traveling to Ireland is substantial. The costs

associated with flights, accommodation, tournament registration fees, equipment,

traveling for training weekends, and field time expenses have all been difficult for us as

amateur athletes to overcome. We have had small fundraisers, sought sponsorships,

and spent money out of our own pockets, but we are still short of the necessary funds to

cover all our expenses.

We kindly ask for your support and believe that with your help, we can overcome the

financial obstacles standing in our way and proudly represent our region in the 2023
