Hi! My name is Phylecia Harrigan and I am currently a Junior in high school. I recently applied to a summer program at USF where I would be able to experience college life and expand upon my interest in the medical field. The cost of this program covers for housing, food and all activities for a whole week (June 16-22). This is a very important opportunity for me since it will allow me to learn more about the field in which i would like to pursue a career in and maybe help me narrow my options since the medical field is so broad. Currently I would like to become a surgeon or a pediatrician but due to the lack of experience it is hard for me to decide. "This program offers a unique hands-on experience to go behind-the-scenes at the Center for Advanced Medical Learning & Simulation (CAMLS), a virtual patient care and surgery training center." where I will be able to "learn what it is like to train in the same environment as medical school students and engage in the same medical equipment demonstrations and realistic hands-on simulation activities." Registration for this program will expire 3 weeks before the start of the actual program so any help will be greatly appreciated!
