Eric Nyborg is the CEO and founder of Sports Outreach Northwest. Eric received his bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Ministry from Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon. Upon graduation, he planted his first church with an emphasis on expository preaching, evangelism, and discipleship.

Sports played an important part in his life from a young age, and in 2011, his passion for Jesus and his passion for sports came together. He launched Sports Outreach Northwest to use the medium of sports to advance the gospel to see lives changed. He works with coaches, high school athletes, and youth in his community. In addition, he enjoys coaching his youngest daughter's basketball team. He is married to Jennifer, and together they have 5 children.

Sports Outreach has continued to grow, adding new sports, Bible studies, and adventures all with the goal of bringing the good news of the gospel to children and families in our community. This growth has been such a blessing, and with it a need for more passionate individuals has arisen.

We recently launched an intern program to help accommodate our growing ministry. Our paid Intern Program is truly a comprehensive discipleship program. Designed to deepen your understanding of effective evangelism, we will equip you to plan outreach events, build meaningful relationships, enhance your communication skills, and unleash your creativity to reach a wider audience with the gospel message. Interns will gain hands-on experience by actively participating in a variety of sports outreach events. You will be involved in planning, organizing, and setting up events, checking in participants, and overall running of the events, allowing you to directly engage with the community and spread the message of Jesus Christ. This program also includes guided mentorship. Not only will you grow in your relationship with Christ, but you will also learn to network with local churches, Christian schools and sports programs making a lasting impact on the community.

• Scholarship: A $4000 scholarship is included, making this internship accessible to passionate individuals seeking to advance the gospel.

• Housing Provided: Enjoy the privilege of staying with a Christian host family for the duration of the summer, providing a supportive environment as you serve and enjoy your internship.

• Internship Dates: Mark your calendars from June 1st to August 17th for a summer filled with learning, evangelism, and growing in your relationship with Christ. We understand that some students may have prior commitments, and we strive to accommodate varying schedules.

• Transportation: Interns are encouraged to drive their vehicles to Oregon. If this is not possible, the ministry will provide for transportation needs.

• Team Building: Embrace the spirit of camaraderie and adventure with day and overnight trips focused on planning, prayer, and bonding amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Pacific Northwest landscape.
