As members of Kappa Alpha Theta, we are truly blessed as a family. With the support of our parents, siblings, relatives and friends, we join as Theta sisters, strong and confident. We also recognize that not everyone is as fortunate as we, which is why Eta Iota is so passionate about our national philanthropies, CASA and the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.
We are now actively preparing for this year’s Mr. University pageant. Male students from throughout the USD community will compete for the title, while helping us raise important funds and awareness for CASA and the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation. Each sister in our chapter will be donating several hours of effort to ensure that the 2015 Mr. University is a success!
Our ambition is to make our fourteenth annual event the best yet! Our fundraising goal for 2015 is $33,000.00 and every dollar helps! Please help us reach our goal!
WHAT IS CASA?
Court Appointed Special Advocates—CASA volunteers—work with children who have been removed from the home due to abuse or neglect. A CASA volunteer provides a voice for the child in the courtroom and the community. CASA programs across the country are known by several different names, including Guardian ad Litem, Child Advocates, and Voices for Children.
For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the only constant adult presence in their lives—the one adult who cares for them. Since the organization was established in 1977, CASA volunteers have helped more than two million abused children nationwide.
WHAT IS THE KAPPA ALPHA THETA FOUNDATION?
Awarding more than $1 million annually, the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation stands as a pillar of support for Thetas and a partner in the Fraternity’s educational and philanthropic efforts. Created by Thetas for Thetas, the Theta Foundation is dedicated to partnering with individuals and college and alumnae chapters for fundraising efforts to support Thetas with scholarships, non-degree educational and leadership grants, and the Fraternity’s educational and leadership programs.
Monetary donations to Mr. University are tax-deductible. Our tax ID number is 36-6066531.
Thank you,
The women of Kappa Alpha Theta
