My name is Daisy Marie House. I am a 7-year-old Chihuahua mix. I was found on the streets of West Oakland after being thrown out of a moving car at 3 months of age. I had two rows of teeth and 3 foxtails in each ear. It took me a long time to trust people. But I trusted my cat friends right away and I took to my new job as cat herder quickly and seriously. I protect my heard of senior cats from moths, butterflies, birds, squirrels and the occasional young interloping stray cat. I never hurt anything, but I have a fierce bark. I am also a loyal companion to my human family. I give my love to them every day. I sometimes think that they would be lost without me. One day while I was tending my cat herd, I went down the back stairs and somehow tore my ACL. My caregivers don’t have the $5,000 for the surgery to repair my injury which will allow me to walk again. Without the surgery I could lose my leg.  Now I have to sit in a cage with nothing to do. I am feeling depressed and miss my friends at the dog park and my cat-herding job. If anyone can help, I would be ever so grateful and I am sure once my caregivers get back on their feet they will do the same for you.
