Urgently Help Spay and Neuter Rescue and Stray Cats

Hello, I'm currently raising funds to help spay and neuter a number of rescued cats and stray cats in Indonesia for a small, independent shelter in Indonesia called @famsofmimo. I have seen for myself the amazing work they do caring for 31 rescue cats and strays on the street, but they are in urgent need of funding to spay and neuter cats that come into their care. Many of the cats they support are sick and a number are kittens that have been abandoned.

At present, they are struggling to cover the basic costs for the cats, including food, litter, vitamins, medicine and essential veterinary care. In particular, they urgently need funds for spaying/neutering because they are overwhelmed with the number of cats at the shelter and there are obvious concerns about overpopulation. It is detrimental to the rescue operation that the spay and neuter operation can continue.

This fundraiser aims to cover the costs to spay/neuter at least 18 cats - 13 females and 5 males. The cost for spaying a female cat is around Rp. 500,000 (£25), which includes a mandatory 3-day hospitalisation period, whilst neutering a male costs about Rp. 250,000 (£15). We also aim to raise money for basic needs of the cats, including food, litter, medication and essential veterinary care.

The situation for street cats in Indonesia is extremely tough. Few people care about animals, and sadly, the government doesn’t do much to assist the situation either. Any amount donated is most gratefully received and will make an enormous difference to the lives of these cats who need your help.
