Hello everyone, I am making this GoFundMe on behalf of my family and most of all, my mother. My mother, Antonia De La Cruz, was run over and suffered very serious fractures to her knee, femur, and pelvis, as well as internal bleeding, which resulted in 4 blood transfusions. The trauma to her body caused her leg severe swelling that resulted in necrosis (death of the tissue in her affected leg). The first surgery my mother underwent lasted 6 hours, and she was on the verge of losing her leg and her life. The second surgery was to remove a large part of the skin and tissue from her leg. She will be undergoing her 3rd surgery on Tuesday, December 10th. The doctors informed us that this surgery will be very painful for her. My mother requires a lot of care since she is immobile. She needs a lot of physical therapy, and her mental health is also affected as she is normally a very active and independent woman. Please pray for her so that her recovery can be as painless as possible for her. We would appreciate any donations to help with my mother's medical expenses. Estoy haciendo este GoFundMe para y más que nada mi mamá, Antonia De La Cruz, tuvo un accidente automovilístico muy grave. Ella fue atropellada y recibió fracturas muy graves que consisten en sangrado interno. Ella necesitó 4 transfusiones de sangre y obtuvo ruptura de hueso pélvico, ruptura del hueso de su cadera y pierna. Del trauma que recibió, su cuerpo se hinchó demasiado al punto de que sufrió necrosis (es la muerte de tejido corporal). Los doctores tuvieron que remover gran parte de piel y tejido de su pierna. Mi mamá estuvo en cirugía 6 horas y estuvo a punto de perder su pierna y su vida. Ella se estará sometiendo a su 3ª cirugía el martes 10 de diciembre. Los doctores nos informaron que esta cirugía será muy dolorosa para ella. Mi mamá requiere de muchos cuidados ya que ella no puede hacer nada por sí misma. Ella necesita de mucha terapia física.
